The SummerTech Leadership Program
SummerTech has designed its teacher development program to be inclusive, challenging, and enormously beneficial to our staff and campers. Most of our teachers come from within our own community through a process of training and experience that makes a difference for the rest of their lives. We invite every SummerTech camper to take on this unique opportunity that has proven results for over two decades.
1:1 Teacher to Student Ratio
You read that right. At SummerTech, each camper learns individually and directly from their instructor. There are no educational packets to follow along with – just pure teaching from teacher to student. You won’t find sponsored software programs here. While our curriculum is stellar, it’s our delivery of it that makes the difference. SummerTech classes are a conversational learning experience that gives you the opportunity to learn faster and more comprehensively.
CITs (Counselor in Training)
As an educational camp whose motto is “Have fun, learn something”, each SummerTech staff member is part counselor and part teacher. Before teaching training starts, we begin with counselor training.
The CIT program is a one-week experience that is available to any camper who has at least completed 9th grade. During your CIT week you will be on a “team” with your fellow CITs to perform a set of tasks, autonomously, to both support and further the SummerTech experience for everyone.
